Frequently Asked Questions
What is Buzzy?
Buzzy is a service that reports your rent payments to major credit bureaus, helping you build and improve your credit score.
How does Buzzy use Plaid?
Buzzy integrates with Plaid to securely connect to your bank account and verify your rent payments automatically. Your credentials are never stored, and your data is encrypted for security.
Which credit bureaus do you report to?
We currently report to Equifax and TransUnion, two of the largest credit bureaus in Canada.
What happens if I miss a rent payment?
Missed rent payments are reported, just like late credit card or loan payments. This could negatively impact your credit score, so it's important to pay on time.
How do I sign up?
Simply click the "Sign Up" button, connect your bank account through Plaid, and start reporting your rent payments immediately.
Does my landlord need to be involved?
No! Unlike some rent reporting services that require landlord participation, Buzzy verifies your rent payments directly through your bank transactions.
Will rent reporting improve my credit score?
Yes! Rent payments contribute to your payment history, one of the key factors in credit scores. A strong history of on-time payments can help boost your score over time.
Can I report past rent payments?
Yes! Our Boost option allows you to report up to 24 months of past rent payments, giving your credit profile an instant boost.
Is there a free plan?
No, Buzzy is a premium service that ensures accuracy and reliability in rent reporting. Our pricing starts at $9.99/month, with an optional Boost feature for a one-time fee.
How long does it take for rent payments to appear on my credit report?
Typically, rent payments appear on your credit report within 30 to 60 days after we begin reporting them to credit bureaus.
What if I stop using Buzzy?
If you cancel your subscription, previously reported rent payments will remain on your credit report, but we will stop reporting new ones.
Is my data safe with Buzzy?
Yes! Buzzy follows strict security protocols, uses bank-level encryption, and never stores your banking credentials.
